This is a really exciting time to join our team as we are looking for someone to join our Investment directorate as a Senior Project Officer. 

What you’ll be doing 

In this role you will play a key part in managing the delivery of the organisation’s capital investment programme which will result in over £150 million of improvements to our homes and neighbourhoods over the next three years.

You will be responsible for ensuring all necessary information is in place to commence programmes, ensuring the principal contractor is in a position to undertake the works in accordance with agreed timescales and budgets. You will also be responsible for ensuring that programmes of work are developed, and that the principal contractor delivers them, to required legislative and regulatory requirements, including those related to building safety and compliance.

The workstreams and projects you will be responsible for include roofing, external environment and building safety works which make a huge difference to our customers’ homes and neighbourhoods. You will be involved in these exciting projects from concept, through pre-construction working in a small team to develop a pipeline of projects as well as overseeing the construction phase which is delivered by WDH’s in-house principal contractor.

What we’re looking for 

  • qualification at Level 4 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework, such as a HNC, Award, Certificate or Diploma at level 4 or equivalent;
  • an IOSH – Managing Safety certificate;
  • experience in the project management of construction projects in excess of two million pounds;
  • experience of and significant success in establishing and maintaining effective performance measures that have returned continuous improvement in service delivery;
  • knowledge and practical experience of Project Management to deliver projects using project management software as a tool do this;
  • a proven track record in a position in a property services department of a housing or construction organisation;
    experience in the delivery of investment programmes through partnering arrangements;
  • a well-developed understanding of client/contractor functions delivering investment programmes within a large organisation; and
  • a flexible approach to workloads dictated by business needs.
