Accommodation 

West Mead Bungalows, Airedale, is a purpose built development of 48 one-bedroom and 16 two-bedroom homes. 

Each bungalow is self-contained with a modern fitted kitchen and bathroom suite and well-appointed bedrooms and living rooms. All properties have district heating. 

WDH's Care Link emergency contact system is wired into each home ensuring access to assistance 24 hours a day. 

Conveniently located close to The Square in Airedale, West Mead is just a walk or bus ride from supermarkets, local shops, pubs, clubs, churches, hairdressers, a fish and chip shop, chemists, post office and a variety of sandwich shops. 

All bungalows are fitted with a fire alarm which is tested regularly. 

There are open plan gardens around the scheme. 

Local amenities 

A mobile library calls at the bungalows once a month. There are local shops and doctors’ surgery at The Square and buses run to Castleford and Knottingley from the bus stop on Queens Park Drive. 

Activities 

Across all our schemes we like to help create a strong sense of community, and we do this by supporting like-minded people to establish a programme of regular activities.  

Some of our schemes enjoy bingo, attend coffee mornings, or take part in other social activities.

West Mead Bungalows has been designed to accommodate a wide range of people’s needs. As well as handrails, it also has disabled access. 

Support 

At West Mead support is available when you need it. With an experienced Community Support Worker and our Care Link system installed in every home as standard, residents can live with the peace of mind that in the event of an emergency, support can be summoned immediately. Residents will receive the same service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year round from WDH. Residents can also tailor the support they receive to suit them, just speak to your Community Support Worker about what suits you and your lifestyle.
