Our Corporate Management Team (CMT) is made up of people who are experts in their field, passionate about putting our customers first and creating confident communities. CMT is responsible for directing WDH within the boundaries agreed by the Board.
Andrew Wallhead
Chief Executive
Andy joined us in 2018. He began as Executive Director Development before taking up the position of CEO in July 2019. Andy has worked in housing, regeneration and development for over 30 years and is a Chartered Surveyor..
He has enjoyed spending his working life within his home region, mainly within West Yorkshire with 12 years spent as a Director and then Interim Chief Executive at Wakefield Council.
Andy has also held several non-executive positions in charities and community organisations and is Chair of the West Yorkshire Housing Partnership.
Martyn Shaw
Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Director of Technical Services
Martyn leads our Technical Services Team which undertakes all the repairs, maintenance and construction works to our homes.
He joined us in 2014 after an extensive career in the energy sector, is Chartered in both Housing and Construction, and a qualified engineer
Martyn lives locally, is Chair of Castleford College, a Governor at Heart of Yorkshire Education Group and is actively involved in a number of community sports groups.
Sarah Roxby
Executive Director of Housing
Sarah is passionate about housing and in particular its impact on health. She has worked in the sector for over 30 years, starting her career in Local Government as a Housing Repairs Clerk.
Sarah progressed to work in homelessness and estate management and also worked for a private consultancy writing housing policy and business strategy.
She is passionate about supporting tenants and making sure that everyone has access to services and opportunities to better themselves and their circumstances.
Tracy Tallant
Director of Organisational Development
Tracy leads the Organisational Development team and is responsible for Human Resources; Learning and Development and Health and Safety.
With over 30 years’ experience of working within Human Resources, Tracy is committed to ensuring the employee experience within WDH is the best it can be and is striving for WDH to be an Employer of Choice.
Tracy grew up in Wakefield and spent many of her younger years living on our estates.
Neil Warren
Executive Director of Resources
With over 38 years' of experience in local government, Neil joined us in July 2023.
A Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Neil has a Master’s Degree in Finance and Accountancy and was previously Chief Finance Officer at Wakefield Council.
Born in Crofton, Neil is passionate about the area, holding non-executive positions at the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group, the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and the Joint Advisory Group for the West Yorkshire Pension Fund.
Sue Young
Executive Director of Investment
A member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, Sue has over 25 years’ experience of housing development and regeneration schemes within the public sector, working for Wakefield Council before joining us in 2015 to manage our Legal Team.
Sue is committed to supporting her team and the wider business to make a difference to the places our customers live and driving forward investment that supports the climate change agenda.
She is a qualified Lawyer and has a BA(Hons) Business Studies Degree.
