No heat or hot water? It might be a frozen pipe

Frozen Condensate

We’ve been getting lots of calls over the past few days from customers reporting no heat or hot water. In lots of these cases, when our engineers have visited, we’ve found that the condensate pipe (a small pipe connected to your boiler) has frozen.

The good news is that, in most cases, you can fix this quickly and easily without the need to wait for an engineer to visit.

Worcester Bosch has a great guide to how you how to do it here.

Please only do this if you feel able to and your boiler is not above ground floor level.

We are still here to help if you aren’t able to thaw the pipe yourself, the pipe isn’t the problem or you have something else to report, it just might take us a little longer to answer your call. The lines are really busy today!
