The Wakefield Community Choir were our winners of the Digital in the Community Award at our 10th Love Where You Live Awards held at Pontefract Racecourse on Friday, 12 November 2021. The Community Choir Wakefield, is an inclusive, non-auditioned community choir for the district which has adopted digital technology such as Skype and Zoom to rehearse and perform online during the pandemic

The season of goodwill is fast approaching, and we want to give the artists of Wakefield the opportunity to showcase their talents, as well as support local charities who have found fundraising during the pandemic, particularly difficult. The season of goodwill is fast approaching, and we want to give the artists of Wakefield the opportunity to showcase their talents, as well as support local charities who have found fundraising during the pandemic, particularly difficult. For Christmas this year, we want to find artists of any age and ability to have their artwork displayed in our newly refurbished Independent Living Scheme, Stoney Garth for our residents to enjoy. The winners will also be offered a £200 donation to their chosen local charity.

The Addy in Knottingley did the double for the second year running and took home two more awards at our Love Where You Live Awards 2021. They took home the award for Working with Young People and their Wild Tots and Friends intergenerational work scooped the award for Working with Older People.
