WDH praised for roofing works

Residents and an international supplier have praised WDH for recent roofing works in Featherstone.

The work was completed in April and the 12 week programme saw 84 properties benefit from roofing improvements. 68 properties underwent insulation and roofing work and another 16 bungalows on Priordale Road had full roof replacements. All 84 properties had new guttering fitted.

The Investment and Improvements teams at WDH worked closely with Wienerberger, who supplied all the roofing materials that were used to improve residents’ properties. Wienerberger are the world’s largest producer of bricks, and number one in the clay roof tile market in Europe.

WDH also replaced outhouse doors and provided new UPVC panelling between windows with insulation to increase fire protection.

The work was carried with some support from subcontractors to help with scaffolding and the relocation of satellite dishes.

Several tenants on Priordale Road have sent thank you cards to show their appreciation for the work carried out on their properties.

One resident said: “The lads on site have been a credit to the business and nothing has been too much trouble for them.”

Craig Smith, WDH’s Senior Project Officer, said: “This site has received recognition from leading tile provider, Wienerberger. The supplier told us they were impressed with the quality of our workmanship after a recent site visit and have commissioned a professional photographer to take some photos and make a short video about the project.”

He added: “The client and principal contractor have worked hand in hand to deliver a fantastic scheme using our own in house team.  This is a testament to team work and decision making and has resulted in the work being showcased by a leading tile manufacturer.

This project was part of WDH’s Capital Investment Programme, which aims to extend the life cycle of WDH properties and reduce future repairs and maintenance costs. It also aims to improve the appearance of WDH estates and helps to create a better environment for residents to live in.
