WDH and Yorkshires Choice Homes to deliver eight new affordable homes in Fitzwilliam

WDH is working with local developer Yorkshires Choice Homes to deliver new homes for affordable rent in Fitzwilliam, Pontefract.

The site, which was formerly the Rovers Return pub on Wakefield Road, will be redeveloped into eight high quality, three-bedroom homes, all available for affordable rent.

These properties will be developed utilising £360,000 funding from the Homes England Wave 2 programme. Homes England has formed a Strategic Partnership with Together Housing to make £53million available to build 1,152 new affordable homes across the country.

The Strategic Partnership with Together Housing includes Accent, WDH and Community Gateway.

Sue Young, Executive Director of Development at WDH, said: “This is a great opportunity for us to work with Yorkshires Choice Homes to deliver new properties for affordable rent in a popular location. As a business we strive to create confident communities and this development will help provide homes for more local families.”

Jason Begg, Managing Director at Yorkshires Choice Homes, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with WDH on such an exciting project. As a local developer we understand the urgent need for this type of housing and very much look forward to bringing the scheme to fruition.”

This development in Pontefract is due to be completed in March 2022.
