WDH and Mears build 16 new homes in South Elmsall

Published 31 January 2020

WDH and building contractors Mears have built 16 new homes on Westfield Lane in South Elmsall on the site of a former pub and derelict swimming pool.

The Miners Mews development combines family living with flexible single storey bungalows, with 14 available for rent, in a very popular area where new homes are in high demand. Two of the properties will go up for sale with Shared Ownership from WDH.

Work began in October 2018 and has taken just over 15 months to complete. All of the properties are built to a high standard and include quality fixtures and features.

Martyn Atkinson, WDH’s New Build Operations Manager, said: “Development and growth are a key part of our business. It is a pleasure to continue to provide new homes for our customers across the district, both for rent and for sale with Shared Ownership. This scheme enhances the area and offers a range of modern and flexible living options for prospective customers and tenants.  The work is a credit to our contractor, Mears, and all of the different teams at WDH who have contributed.”

The homes will now be allocated on Homesearch and the two Shared Ownership properties will be offered for sale to successful applicants.
