The Foundation Grant scheme is back

Published 13 October 2020

If you are living in a WDH property and aged over 16, our Foundation Grant Scheme gives you the chance to apply for up to £1,500 in any one year to help with educational support or to improve your job opportunities and you don’t have to pay it back.

The Grant can be used for a range of things including:

  • course equipment, such as a hairdressing kit or nail equipment;
  • enhanced DBS checks to start work;
  • CSCS cards;
  • food hygiene courses;
  • dog handling courses;
  • identification such as a provisional driving licence, birth certificate or biometric residence permit;
  • bus/rail passes to attend courses;
  • childcare while attending a course or placement; or
  • interpreters or translators to enable you to attend courses or job interviews.

Thomas Lawton, WDH Customer Insight Officer, said: “The Grant offers you the extra help to get into training and work. The Grant does make a difference to people’s lives. It is important that we help to break down barriers that you might have when looking for work and give you the best chance of success.”

Please note the nature of the grant scheme is competitive and making an application does not guarantee you an award. Decisions are given on applications around a month after each deadline.

To make an enquiry or to send us your application, please email: foundation@wdh.co.uk.
