Residents from Altofts get into the festive spirit

Published 18 December 2014

Children from Lee Brigg Infant School performed some Christmas carols to the residents at WDH’s Silkstone Court Independent Living Scheme.

The children from year two sang nine songs from their school nativity play ‘Gabriel’s Big Break’ and gave all the residents mince pies to get them into the festive spirit.

The children were then rewarded for their efforts with selection boxes.

Amelia Gibson, 96, who has lived at the Altofts Independent Living Scheme for 20 years, said: “I really love to hear children sing and they all sang lovely.”

Michelle Roe, Music and Science Coordinator, said: “The children have been rehearsing for a few weeks for their nativity but this is the first time they have done it in public and for a community.  I am really proud of them and they all really enjoyed it.”
