Reopening full repairs and maintenance services from Monday, 29 March 2021

In line with the Government’s roadmap to ease lockdown restrictions, we are beginning the gradual restoration of our housing services, which we had previously scaled back, to keep our customers and employees safe.  

On Monday, 29 March 2021, we are reintroducing, in a safe and considered way, a full repair and maintenance service for our customers and at the same time will be gradually increasing more face to face interactions, including home visits.  

To log a new repair you can call our OneCALL team on 0345 8 507 507 or for non-urgent repairs send an email to onecall@wdh.co.uk. 

We expect a high volume of calls to OneCALL in the early part of next week, so we ask you to consider if your repair is an emergency before calling. If it is not, we recommend you email or call us towards the end of the week, which should be a quieter time.   

The person you are reporting the repair to will be able to give an approximate waiting time and the tradesperson, who will carry out your repair, will then contact you before attending to find out more details about the repair. They will also agree a convenient time to visit your home to carry out the work. 

If you have previously logged a non-essential repair with us, you will be contacted to confirm if the repair is still outstanding. If it is, we will arrange a convenient appointment time to visit your home to undertake the repair. In all cases, if we are unable to contact you, we unfortunately may not be able to continue with an appointment. 

When we visit your home, our tradespeople will always be wearing WDH uniforms and carry identification, so you know it’s us.  To keep everyone safe, we are continuing to ensure that all our employees and contractors follow the latest government guidance. This includes using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining social distancing in your home, where this is possible. 

We are following current Government guidance at every step and remain hopeful that we can reopen Pontefract and Wakefield Hubs, at the same time as we expect the government to allow non-essential retail outlets to reopen. When restrictions mean we can confirm the reintroduction of these services, we will share the details here on our website, wdh.co.uk and on our social media channels.
