New labour procurement framework

Efficiency North Limited, a partnership group made up of organisations including WDH, will be hosting a series of free drop-in sessions for its new, multi-million pound labour framework in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Efficiency North Limited will be running three day-long events across Yorkshire and Humberside in August, ahead of the framework launch in April 2015.

The initiative is designed to support contractors prior to bid submission for the organisation’s labour framework, which has been flexibly structured to increase the number of opportunities available regardless of contractors’ size or location.

Contractors have the opportunity to tender for work on the framework by region and by lot size, depending on business resource and capability.

A variety of housing provider needs will be serviced by the framework. These include kitchen and bathroom installation, heating and ventilation, electrical installation, brickwork and masonry, renewable heating and ventilation, roofing, general building works, painting, estates improvements, external works, adaptations, solar photovoltaic installations, fire precaution works, and whole house improvement works.

The events, delivered with support from Re:allies, will be held from 9:30am to 5pm in order to suit most schedules at:

  • The Source in Sheffield on 19th August;
  • The Waterton Park in Wakefield on 20th August;
  • The Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel in Hull on 21st August.

A presentation titled 'Tendering for Success' will be held three times throughout the day at 11am, 2pm and 4pm.

Clare Tetlow, Senior Procurement Manager at Re:allies, the events' key speaker on ‘Tendering for Success’, explains: “Efficiency North Limited’s members are responsible for repairs and maintenance for over 275,000 homes across Yorkshire and Humberside, so the labour framework presents a huge opportunity for local contractors. We’ve divided it up into smaller lots, and by geographical region, to encourage businesses of all sizes who can offer a fantastic standard of work.

“As we’re keen to help a broad range of contractors get onto our framework we’re running our tender workshops to give businesses practical, easy to understand advice on what to expect, what we’re looking for and key timings for the tender process.”
