More opportunities to have your say

Published 12 February 2021

As our customers, you are at the heart of everything we do, and we want to give you more, and better opportunities to have your say to help shape our services.

 To help you get involved in our activities in a way that’s easy and right for you, we have launched our Resident Involvement and Scrutiny Plan (RISP) for 2020 to 2025. The plan falls in line with the recently launched Social Housing White Paper, and the expectation that is on landlords to make sure tenants voices are heard.

 This plan will ensure our engagement activities are well organised, represent value for money and create positive outcomes for people and places. It supports our vision to create confident communities and will help us reach our goal of making real change through social outcomes by 2025.

 It also strengthens our commitment to adopt the National Housing Federation’s Together with Tenants Plan and Charter.

 We know that there is always room for improvement in everything we do, therefore the RISP builds on what we’ve already achieved, setting new goals to create a strong foundation for a relationship with residents.

 To ensure you can successfully influence our decision-making processes, and have your say on our services, some of our objectives include:

 ·       undertaking quality engagement activity which is inclusive and representative of the demographic of our residents;

·       ensuring a transparent approach to scrutiny, that strengthens a resident-led process of constructive challenge;

·       delivering a blended approach to resident involvement, combining face to face, phone, written and digital methods; and

·       enabling tenant and resident community groups to thrive and play a valuable part in the lives of their neighbourhoods.

 A more detailed action plan outlines our resident involvement activity, which will be monitored and challenged by those tenants who are involved in our Operational Committee.

 This will help us give you the power to shape your own communities and encourage you to have your say about services which we provide for you. With our guidance and support, opportunities to participate in resident volunteering will expand to ensure more of our residents get on board than ever before.
