Improve your skills with a free course

Published 25 March 2015

Free courses for WDH tenants are already attracting lots of interest – so don’t miss out, sign up now!

This year’s WDH Community Learning Programme begins next month and offers 11 courses covering a range of useful and creative subjects.

You can add to your CV by taking accredited courses such as Paediatric First Aid, help others by learning about British Sign Language and communicating with deaf people or expand your social circle with creative courses such as sewing skills and cake decorating.

The programme, run in partnership with Wakefield Council, proved very popular last year and places will again be available free of charge to tenants on a first come, first served basis.

WDH Customer Excellence Manager Gerard Maguire said: “We have already had some very positive feedback on social media about this year’s courses and I would encourage people to express an interest as soon as they can to avoid disappointment.

“We expect a good take-up again this year as people who took part in 2014 felt they had not only learned a lot - and in some cases gained qualifications - but also made new friends and boosted their job prospects.

“We may even be able to help with child care and transport costs, so call us now to find out more.

“If there’s anything that you would like to learn, let us know and we might be able to include it in future programmes.”

To sign up, or for more details, search for the Community Learning Programme prospectus on www.wdh.co.uk,  email tenants@wdh.co.uk or call WDH’s Engagement Team on 01977 788647.
