Get in the Zone for fun and games

WDH Activity Zones are springing up all over the Wakefield district! 

Children will be able to burn off their energy in the run-up to Christmas at a series of fun events where they can play games and try out new sports while staying warm and dry.

Football fans aged 11 to 16 can play the beautiful game for £1 a session every Friday at Ossett Academy (5.30pm to 6.30pm), Lightwaves Leisure Centre, Wakefield (6pm to 7pm) and Knottingley Sports Centre (7.45pm to 8.45pm). Shin pads are recommended!

On Tuesdays youngsters aged 11 to 16 are invited to play “social football” with their friends at Pontefract Sports and Social 3G Pitch (term time only, 4.30pm to 5.30pm).

And there are other term time WDH Activity Zones for youngsters aged eight to 12 as follows:

Mondays – Stanley Community Centre (3.45pm to 4.45pm)

Tuesdays – St Mary’s Community Centre, Pontefract (4pm to 5pm) 

Wednesdays – The Glasshoughton Centre (4pm to 5pm)

Thursday – Ferrybridge Community Centre (4pm to 5pm)

Gawthorpe Community Academy will host WDH Activity Zones featuring rounders and dodgeball for the whole family on Thursdays from 4.30pm to 5.30pm and mini soccer for eight to 11 year olds every Friday from 4pm to 5pm.
