With the easing of restrictions, teams at WDH have been able to get out and about again in the community.
WDH recently attended the Family Fun Day at the Sidings in Crofton, and brought along the WDH exhibition van , promoting services and initiatives including Cash Wise, our Foundation Grants and volunteering opportunities. It was a fantastic day out with families enjoying visiting the various stalls, fairground rides, a dog show and a performance from a dance group. A raffle was drawn at the end of the event and we had donated a hamper and children’s bike as prizes for the lucky winners. The event was a great success!
John Scarr, Engagement Manager, said: “It has been refreshing to see the community having the chance to get together again and we were pleased to attend and support the Crofton Family Fun Day. The event was well attended, and it was great engaging with the local community promoting volunteering opportunities and the WDH Foundation Grant.”
WDH have also worked in partnership with West Wakefield Wombles to carry out a litter pick in Horbury. After getting stuck in, a total of 19 bags of rubbish were collected. WDH look forward to holding similar such activities with the Wombles in future locations.
Chris Croxall, Tenant Involvement Officer, added: “It was great for us to team up with the West Wakefield Wombles and Local Elected Members to carry out a litter pick in the Manorfields area of Horbury. Through community involvement, this has made an immediate and positive impact in the neighbourhood.”
