Children from South Elmsall check on the progress of Miners Mews

Published 11 July 2019

Children from Carlton Primary School in South Elmsall recently visited our new build site on Westfield Lane in South Elmsall to see how the street they had named was coming along.

Back in February the children had designed site safety posters and chosen the name Miners Mews for our newest development.

We are working with Mears, a local contractor to build the properties and they are due for completion in February 2020. The site will provide 14 new homes for affordable rent and three properties for sale with our Shared Ownership Scheme.

Jane Gwilliam, WDH’s Tenant Involvement Officer, said: “The children really enjoyed their visit to site. It gave them the opportunity to see the plans for the site and ask questions. Getting involved in our new build process really helps them to feel like they are part of something but it also teaches them valuable lessons about staying safe.”
