Cash Wise service scoops Business in the Community reaccreditation

Published 24 June 2016

An initiative that’s helped more than 1,800 people to improve their finances and manage their money better has successfully retained an accreditation with the business-led, issue-focused charity, Business in the Community (BITC).

In 2015 Cash Wise was highly commended in BITC’s ‘Experian Building Stronger Communities Award’ category, recognising it as an initiative that is delivering long-term social and economic benefits to communities in Wakefield. The Cash Wise team, who offer financial health checks and support to help individuals maximise their income, gained reaccreditation for the honour after submitting evidence that they continue to develop and progress as a service.

Pete Beaumont, WDH’s Financial Inclusion Manager, said: “This accolade is important because it tells everyone that we continue to be leaders in our field, innovating and implementing changes to support as many people as we can. With changes to the way people receive benefits still being rolled out we must continue to look at ways we can engage individuals, using new technologies and approaches.”
