Easter fun at the Old Addy

Published 26 April 2017

Children and young people took part in a host of Easter activities supported by WDH at the Old Addy Adventure Playground in Knottingley.

Activities went down a treat at the playground, also known as the Old Quarry, and included Easter sticky bun making and an Easter egg hunt to celebrate the holidays.

The Addy provides free regular sessions, Wild Tots and Adventure Play, which are funded by the Big Lottery and are tailored for children and young people to meet and play safely. WDH has a long standing history of partnership working at the Addy as it is a central point for the local community.

Tara Watson, Senior Play Worker at the centre, said: “It has been a fantastic day and we have had a great turn out. We have these sessions regularly for young people who may be struggling to find things to do in the school holidays. The sessions are completely free.”

She added: “Children of all ages come here and it’s a great place for them to play and socialise. We don’t just cater for children. We do have a luncheon club and an afternoon tea session for families and we now have a Run Riot Club which caters especially for those with additional needs. It’s great to able to provide something for everyone.”
