If you are living in a WDH property and aged over 16, our Foundation Grant Scheme gives you the chance to apply for up to £1,500 in any one year to help with educational support or to improve your job opportunities and you don’t have to pay it back.

The recent COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted more than ever how WDH’s independent living schemes can provide the right support at the right time to help some of our more vulnerable residents to remain independent in their own home.

This week is Falls Prevention Week (1-8 October 2020) and our Care Link Team is raising awareness of how the service could help support you and your loved ones.

As you will know, we’ve had to adapt the way we provide some of our services over the past months in response to Coronavirus.

Since WDH was established in 2005, we have gone from strength to strength. We are now one of the UK’s largest social housing providers and the biggest provider in Wakefield, with over 32,000 homes across the district and the wider region. However, we deliver more than just housing and have expanded the range of services we provide to our tenants, stakeholders and communities to offer support where it is needed. As we continue to develop and grow we are looking for people who want to make a difference to the lives of people across the Wakefield district and beyond, by helping us to shape the services we deliver to a wide variety of customers. We are more than a typical landlord and we are looking to create more than your typical Board. We are looking for Board members who can bring insight and experience from our communities to help us to provide what our customers and communities need.

Customer experience specialists, TLF Research, will shortly be undertaking WDH’s annual tenant satisfaction survey. However, before they start this, because so much has changed in the last six months due to COVID-19, they are carrying out a short survey that aims to explore what is important to our customers.
