We have been supporting National Apprenticeship Week with our ‘Break the Mould’ campaign which aims to attract nine new apprentices to the business and show women that they can have a career in the trades.

My name is Lee and I am employed as a Tree Maintenance Officer for WDH. My work involves carrying out work to trees on WDH land which can include climbing in to the tree canopy to cut back overgrowth, remove damaged limbs or a full tree removal if the tree has been assessed to be dead, diseased or damaged posing a risk to people or nearby property.

We work with schools across the district to promote the benefits of apprenticeships, so when Castleford Academy approached us and asked if could help support groups of Year 11 students we welcomed the opportunity to show what apprenticeships with us are all about.
