New Priory Extra Care Scheme is a purpose built development of 22 one bedroom and 1 two bedroom apartments.

As an extra care scheme, New Priory is ideal for anyone who needs a little more help. Our Extra Care schemes provide you with safe, secure independent living and a busy social scene but also provide a daily three course lunch in the lounge and domestic assistants to help keep your home clean.

New Priory is set in attractive, communal landscaped gardens and each home has been modernised to a high standard with modern fitted kitchen units and level access shower rooms. Ground floor apartments have patios and private gardens and first floor apartments have Juliet balconies.

The scheme benefits from gas central heating and double glazing throughout.

WDH’s Care Link emergency contact system is wired into each home ensuring access to assistance 24 hours a day.

Conveniently located close to Featherstone town centre, New Priory is just a short bus ride – from supermarkets, local shops, pubs, clubs, churches, hairdressers, a fish and chip shop, chemists, butcher and a variety of sandwich shops.

A mobile library visits the scheme monthly and a mobile hairdresser visits weekly.

All apartments are linked to a fire alarm which is tested regularly.

Local amenities

There are local shops in Featherstone town centre which is a short bus ride away from the bus stop outside the scheme. There are also buses to Pontefract town centre for access to more shops and banks.

Across all our schemes we like to help create a strong sense of community, and we do this by bringing together like-minded people through our programme of regular activities. Residents can enjoy bingo, attend coffee mornings, or take part in quiz nights or monthly social outings.

Support

At New Priory support is available when you need it. With an experienced Residential Scheme Manager or Community Support Worker and our Care Link system installed in every home as standard, residents can live with the peace of mind that in the event of an emergency, support can be summoned immediately. Residents will receive the same service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year round from WDH. Residents can also tailor the support they receive to suit them, just speak to your Residential Scheme Manager or Community Support Worker about what suits you and your lifestyle.

Security

We know that your security is a priority, and that’s why entry to New Priory is controlled through a secure fob system. We also operate security cameras around the scheme.
