We are currently looking for a GIS Analyst to work in our Business Intelligence Team.

What you’ll be doing:

In this role you will be WDH’s recognised expert in GIS analysis, provide expert advice to colleagues and partners in relation to geospatial technology and methods. You will be an advocate of GIS within WDH and promote its use to solve problems, find efficiencies and improve performance. You will be expected to collaborate with the wider BI team to provide analysis to the organisation and help integrate GIS functionality into BI tools.

You will also lead on developing a newly implemented cloud hosted mapping service that will further enhance our return on investment in software and data. You will be responsible for the GIS to ensure spatial data and software is up to date, well maintained, and relevant to business requirements.

What we’re looking for:

  • a qualification at level 6 of the framework for Higher Educations, for example, a Batchelor’s degree in geography (with GIS) or related discipline;
  • a successful track record of exploiting new opportunities, and managing change to achieve improvements;
  • significant experience of using desktop and web based GIS software and applying to problems in a business context;
  • experience of working with OS Open Data and other open data sources; and
  • ability to communicate, negotiate and persuade effectively.
