In this role you will provide mapping services to colleagues, partners and project managers and advise where GIS methods can solve problems and offer opportunities within the business.

You will be responsible for updating key spatial datasets and databases, as well as maintaining desktop and web mapping workspaces to ensure they are to date and fit for purpose.

You will support the GIS Analyst in the implementation of new cloud hosted GIS systems and provide training and support to end users of WDH’s web map software.

You will be part of the Business Intelligence (BI) team and will be expected to collaborate with the wider BI team to provide analysis to the organisation and help integrate GIS functionality into BI tools.

  • Qualification at level 4 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework, such as a HNC, Award, Certificate or Diploma at Level 4 or equivalent in GIS or a related discipline
  • Experience of using GIS software to create maps, extract information and solve problems in a commercial or academic context
  • Knowledge of spatial data structures and format
  • Experience of working with OS Open Data and other open data sources
  • Experience of using spreadsheets, preferably with experience of using pivot tables and other data manipulation techniques, to analyse data in a commercial or academic context
  • Knowledge of a broader range of GIS and related skills/technologies such as web mapping applications and programming languages is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clear and concise information to a non-expert audience.
  • Interest in or experience of the social housing sector
