Notes The role is fixed term up to 18 months

We are looking for someone to work in consultation with the Director of Organisational Development and take responsibility for the strategic direction of the health and safety function in order to meet the requirements of current and future health and safety legislation needs of WDH.

In this role, you will provide the necessary framework so that managers and employees within the organisation can take responsibility, within health and safety legislation, for the work they undertake.

Applicants will have:

  • A qualification at Level 6 of the Framework for Higher Education Qualification, such as a First Degree, Award, or Diploma at level 6 or equivalent in a relevant subject area;
  • Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (CMIOSH)or can demonstrate they are actively working towards through IPD route (minimum Grad IOSH);
  • Experience of developing organisational health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Significant leadership and line management experience, with the ability to motivate and encourage teams to achieve;
  • Experience of designing, delivering and evaluating health and safety training courses; and
  • An understanding of the current issues facing the provision of social housing, particularly with regard to health and safety.
