We are looking to recruit Community Support Workers who will work within our community based teams. You will provide and monitor housing related support services to tenants within Independent Living Schemes, and other customers across the Wakefield District, who may have various support needs, with the main objective being to promote and maintain the individual’s independence in their own home.

Successful applicants will have:

  • experience of working with older and / or vulnerable people, an understanding of their needs and knowledge of the services available to them;
  • excellent customer care skills and relevant training in housing, health or social care, for example First Aid / Basic Food Hygiene Certificate;
  • 5 qualifications at Level 1 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework such as GCSE’s grades D-G or Certificate or Diploma at Level 1 or equivalent; and
  • a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle at all times.

The positions includes some shift and bank holiday working. A DBS check will also be required for successful candidates.
