Our Property Compliance Team is looking for a Fire Safety Compliance Officer to oversee all aspects of service delivery and development relating to fire safety issues, such as fire risk assessments, fire prevention.

In this role you will report to the Compliance Manager and provide advice and guidance to the business on fire safety matters. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will ensure that WDH complies with all legal responsibilities and requirements for fire prevention and fire precaution.

You will carry out inspections and compile fire safety reports, track fire related repairs and actions and liaise with colleagues, contractors and any third parties as required as part of the role.

Applicants will have:

  • a range of fire safety qualifications including a NEBOSH Fire Certificate or equivalent, Fire Safety and Fire Risk Assessment training (Institute of Fire Engineers or equivalent), Full professional membership Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) or equivalent;
  • familiarity with and competence in the use of design codes and other relevant publications and the application of Approved Document B requirements in relation to proposed schemes, to secure compliance with Part B of the Building Regulations;
  • excellent communication skills and the ability to compile and deliver technical fire related presentations to range of audiences;
  • the ability to evaluate, review and implement changes to programmes, systems and procedures; • strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise and manger their own workload in order to meet challenging deadlines; and
  • expert working knowledge of fire safety construction within buildings and a working knowledge of fire safety legislation and best practice.

The post holder must hold a valid UK driving licence and have daily access to a vehicle to travel throughout the district and to other locations as required.
