Members of the Eastmoor Community Garden in Wakefield will be taking part in art workshops in the new year thanks to a community grant from WDH which has enabled the group to buy materials and pay a sessional worker to lead the workshops.
The group received a grant for over £400 from WDH as part of their Community Grant Scheme, which allows local groups to apply for up to £1,500 to fund events, activities or buy new equipment.
Karen Deeley, who runs the project, said: “We just want to say thank you WDH for their support and funding in order for us to run the art workshops in the gardens. We hope people from the local community will enjoy them.”
Chris Croxall, WDH’s Tenant Involvement Officer, said: “It’s great to see so many different groups benefitting from these grants and putting the money to good use. They can really help to boost local communities and it is nice for WDH to be able to give something back.”
